Bob Rumball Associations for the Deaf Mission, Vision, Values Statement and Strategic Directions

Mission Statement:
It is the mission of the Bob Rumball Associations for the Deaf to build better futures for deaf children and adults with special needs by helping them to reach their potential, to experience a higher quality of life, and strive to be contributing members of society.


Values Statement:
We believe that:
  • Deaf persons with special needs are best served in an environment where they can understand those around them and be understood by their care givers
  • Deaf persons with special needs are valued individuals
  • Deaf persons with special needs have a right to develop their potential
  • Deaf persons with special needs have the right to live a fulfilled and meaningful life
  • Deaf persons with special needs have a place in Deaf society and culture
  • Deaf persons with special needs should have the opportunity to be contributing members of society
  • Deaf persons with special needs and their parents should not experience a feeling of hopelessness about the future

    Strategic Directions:
    Our mission is fulfilled through:
  • Fostering a nurturing Deaf community, while preserving and promoting their language and culture
  • Strategically integrating our clients into the larger community
  • Encouraging personal growth and enhancing our clients' quality of life by developing their communication skills, and providing work and social opportunities
  • Developing a skilled and caring staff through formal and informal training and support
  • Developing effective funding strategies for both programs and clients with both government and community funding agencies

    Vision Statement:
    The Bob Rumball Associations for the Deaf, whose team of highly qualified staff is passionately committed to achieving exceptional results for all of our clients and stakeholders, is a leader in the delivery of programs and services for deaf children and adults with special needs.
