WeeHands is a sign language program offered by the Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf. The program is designed to enhance hearing babies' language development, and is based on Joseph Garcia's SIGN with your BABY™ program.

Are you a parent or caregiver with a baby between the ages of 4 and 12 months old? Come and learn how to communicate using basic sign language with your baby!

Session # 1
Tuesday February 28th – Tuesday April 24th, 2012
(No class on Tuesday March 13, due to March Break)

During this 8 week class, you will learn over 150 ASL signs to use with your baby. We meet for 60 minutes each week and focus on a specific theme each class, e.g., food signs or play signs or family signs, etc. Each week you will learn at least 20 signs and one or two songs to sign with your baby! Our instructor will lead a general discussion on language and communication development in the first year and class participants will be assigned homework weekly that focuses on using ASL signs while encouraging language and communication development (Don’t tell anyone but the homework is fun!) A Weehands manual, with pictures of all signs taught is provided for all families attending. Age recommendation: 4 – 12 months of age.

Each Weehands workshop or class is limited to 10 babies and their families. Your tuition for a Signing Babies (babies 0 – 12 months), includes a Weehands manual and covers your family (mom, dad, grandparents, etc., can attend with baby)

WITHDRAWAL:A written request to withdraw must be received by Lisa Faria in Sign Language Services by February 21st (Begins on Feb 28th, 2012) for a partial refund. A written request to withdraw must be received by April 24th, 2012 (Begins on May 1st, 2012) for a partial refund.

COURSE CANCELLATION:Courses may be cancelled if an insufficient number of people enroll. A full refund will be made. Please allow 3 weeks for processing and mail delivery.”
