Sign language Services

 

Our aim is to reduce the barriers of communication experienced by deaf individuals by promoting the use of sign language within the hearing community.

We offer:

  • American Sign Language Courses using the Signing Naturally curriculum (ASL-1A through ASL-1E; ASL-2A through ASL-2C; ASL-3A-3F) Offered 4 semesters per year at our North York location

  • A special one week Summer Adult ASL Immersion Camp at the Bob Rumball Camp for the Deaf in Parry Sound

  • A Silent Winter Weekend Adult ASL Retreat at the Bob Rumball Camp for the Deaf in Parry Sound


  • Courses in Fingerspelling & Classifiers


  • Sign Out! Programs for hearing children who want to learn sign language including: March Break and Summer Day Camps, at our North York Location


  • WeeHands for parents and babies 4-12 months. Enhances babies' language development. At our North York Location

    Registration Procedure:
    Contact Sign Language Services to receive a copy of the current registration and info package for ASL classes, ASL camps and "Sign Out!" and Wee Hands programs or you may pick up a copy from the main lobby at BRCD or from our website by downloading a copy from the page for that specific program. You may register by mail, drop-box, in-person or by fax.
