Seniors Supportive Housing Program

We are committed to enhancing the quality of life and self-determination for deaf seniors. We believe that the isolation of deaf seniors can be prevented by ensuring a unique environment which promotes and preserves deaf culture, language and heritage.

We aim to:
1. To promote a sense of belonging, independence and dignity
2. To provide skilled staff and volunteers
3. To accommodate various communication modes
4. To promote a holistic perspective of health
5. To maintain an optimal level of independence for each resident

Accommodation:
  • Bachelor apartments with kitchenette and full bath

  • 1 bedroom apartments with full kitchen and full bath

  • 2 bedroom apartments with kitchenette and 2 full baths

  • Ample storage space

  • Access to lounges, dining room, gymnasium and activity room

  • Parking


  • Services Offered:
  • Support Workers (individual help)

  • Meals, available through our Congregate Dining Program

  • Communicator/Intervenor

  • 24 hour Emergency Response System

  • Hairdressing

  • Assistance with shopping

  • Transportation

  • Escort

  • Activities

  • Housekeeping

  • Laundry


  • Fees:
    1. Depend on apartment unit
    2. Rent subsidy available
    3. No charge for support services
    4. Minimal charge for transportation and escort.
    5. Meals - individual meals or plan options available

    Admission Requirements:
    Must be deaf or hard of hearing, 65 years of age or older and requiring personal assistance. Younger applicants will be considered on an individual basis.

    Application Procedure:
    Completed an application form and submit to the manager.
