For beginner students – Topics include the alphabet and numbers, basic communication skills, fingerspelling, and Deaf culture.
Introduction to the family, daily activities, and storytelling.
Continue to expand your conversational skills by adding new vocabulary and focusing on sentence structure. You will learn descriptive words and phrases about people, places, and making requests.
Ongoing instruction in vocabulary and phrases about giving opinions, discussing plans and goals, improving ASL sentence structure and storytelling skills.
For advanced learners – Topics include the use of classifiers, role playing scenarios, health vocabulary, in depth Deaf culture discussions, and advanced storytelling, fingerspelling and use of numbers.
