Deaf Camp

There is no other place like Deaf Camp.  Join us in the north and experience the summer of your life!

The Bob Rumball Camp of the Deaf has a rich history dating back over 60 years.  This incredible property with two lakes and hundreds of acres is a hidden treasure in the Parry Sound District. It has to be seen to be believed.

Rev Rumball and the members of the Ontario Mission of the Deaf had a vision where deaf children could take pleasure in the joys of a traditional summer camp experience while developing their leadership and outdoor skills, in a communication rich environment.  All in a place that was truly their own: their languages, their programming, and their property.

Deaf Camp continues to be a vibrant hub of belonging and inclusivity, welcoming children and teenagers with varying degrees of deafness as well as hearing youth eager to immerse themselves in sign language and Deaf culture. A place where deaf youth can come and enjoy amazing activities like, swimming, canoeing, waterskiing, tarzan rope swinging, kayaking, stand up paddle boards, crafts, baking, wood working, hiking, games and activities, funny skits and songs, and sooo much more…all in a place that is their own – where they understand and can be understood in their own language.

Deaf Camp is a place:

·  that once you start coming you may never want to stop

·  that becomes a “home”

·  where campers become staff and are able to give back to the next generation of campers

·  to make memories and relationships that last a lifetime.
