Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS)

LBS, or Literacy and Basic Skills, is designed specifically for deaf and hard of hearing adults seeking to enhance their foundational literacy and numeracy skills. This program offers a comprehensive curriculum encompassing reading, writing, mathematics, computer literacy, and ASL, empowering participants to achieve greater independence and pursue educational and employment opportunities.

Eligibility:

  • Residents of Ontario aged between 18 and 64.
  • Minimum proficiency equivalent to Grade 12 in reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Newcomers to Canada are eligible, provided they possess a Social Insurance Number (SIN) or equivalent documentation.
