At EarlyON, we’re here to provide dedicated support to parents of deaf and hard of hearing children aged 0 to 6 as well as families in the community. Our doors are open Five days a week, Tuesdays from 9 am to 12 pm for Drop-in and 3pm-5:30pm for Drop-in, Wednesdays from 9 am to 12 pm for Drop-in, Thursdays from 9 am to 12 pm for Registered Programs and 3pm-5:30pm for Drop-in, Fridays from 9 am to 12 pm for Drop-in and Saturdays ( for families with Deaf and hard of hearing children only) 9 am to 12 pm for Drop-in , offering a nurturing environment where families can thrive.
Join us for our engaging family ASL classes, specially tailored for parents and caregivers. Explore a range of workshops designed to enrich the lives of families with deaf and hard of hearing children, covering topics from child development to healthy habits and communication strategies.
Our dedicated staff are here to offer personalized guidance through one-to-one conversations, addressing any questions or concerns about your child’s growth, sleep routines, nutrition, hearing loss, and communication options.
On Thursdays, dive into our themed programs exploring art, science, and music/movement. Meanwhile, our drop-in sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday provide invaluable opportunities for children to play, socialize, and learn in a supportive environment. From free play with our array of toys to story time, delivered in both English and ASL, there’s something for every child to enjoy.
Exciting special events, from Halloween Trick or Treating to our Summer Fun Day, offer memorable experiences for the whole family. Register early to secure your spot, with priority given to children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

A supportive place for parents/caregivers and young children. The Rumball EarlyON Child and Family Centre is a welcoming and inclusive drop in program where parents and caregivers can bring their young children to play, meet other caregivers, get answers on child development and find information on programs and services. Children can participate in activities that support their growth and development.
We also offer specialized programming for families with a child who has a newly diagnosed hearing loss. Our staff are experienced in the area of hearing loss and provide an excellent resource.
Services include:
- Early learning drop-in programs for all parents/caregivers and children
- Information and Referrals to community resources for children and families.
- Staff communicate in English and American Sign Language.
- Family Resource and Lending Library.

- Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays – Drop in 9:30am-11:30am : Snack time at 10:30am, Story and Song Time at 11:15 am
- Tuesdays and Thursdays Afternoon Drop in 3pm- 5:30pm Story and Song Time at 5:15pm.

Free Virtual ASL Classes
These free Online ASL classes for parents and caregivers of Deaf and hard of hearing children are offered 3 times a year in the Winter, Spring and Fall. We offer three classes depending on where you are in your ASL learning journey: Beginner, Moderate and Advanced. Email earlyon@bobrumball.org to join a list to get the registration.
If you cannot make it to our Centre, we also offer a virtual email group that is sent videos each month that follow holidays and interesting facts about the month. There are videos in English with ASL support or captioning as well as Videos in ASL with English Captions. Email earlyon@bobrumball.org to join.
